Job Description
- planning and implementation of security policies, strategic advancement of the Security Department
- regular conduct, identification, and minimization of potential hazards
- Leading a team of 4 employees, providing professional guidance to all security officers, ensuring personnel, organizational, and professional aspects
- Development and execution of training programs for MDC employees in German and English, enhancing awareness of security standards
- Development, implementation, and monitoring for occupational safety, biological safety, fire protection, and radiation safety
- Provision of expertise and assistance with biological agents, action instructions, and hygiene plans
- effective implementation of security policies and procedures through collaboration with various departments
- Preparation and guidance of scientific teams during regular audits by authorities
- taking over consultation and control according to GenTG for all MDC research groups
- Conducting emergency drills and creating emergency plans to ensure responsiveness in critical situations
- Managing security documentation and records according to legal requirements
Requirements
- Completed degree in Security Management, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of relevant professional experience in a managerial position, in the field of security
- Solid knowledge of relevant security regulations, standards, and practices
- Proof of expertise as a Biological Safety Officer and certification as a Specialist for Occupational Safety
- Relevant and in-depth knowledge of laws: BiostoffV, Infection Protection Act, Stem Cell Act
- Strong leadership qualities
- Independent, proactive work approach, ability to work under pressure and prioritize; ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions
- Goal-oriented, flexible, and cooperative work style
- Strong organizational and communication skills, negotiation skills
- Very good German and English language skills both written and spoken, at least at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
